So its nearly April and I've not released any information on what might happen for Ryan's Christmas Lights 2009..
It will be the 10th year that I have been decorating so quite the celebration I guess but I probably won't make that much of a fuss about it as far as signs, voice overs, etc in December.
Tonight I submitted my order for new lights to the store that orders them to specification for me.. going to cost around $850 for the lights. Then a further $200 or so for another behind the scenes change to allow more flexibility with syncing lights to the music (and it's not an entirely new system this time Fi_ but just a few additions to what I already have so hopefully I'll have some hair left... hehe)
I have a couple of ideas for the 2009 display.. some use older lights that would otherwise remain in storage whilst others use newer LED lights.
The display is getting quite big now and consumes a lot of time so at least at this point in time I can't see myself making any major additions to the display after this year.. just a few changes here and there from now on I think.. but the beauty of the majority of the display being controlled through the computer means it can continue looking rather fresh with new music, chasing patterns and so forth..
With the additions of the new lights I imagine there will be around 26,000 total individual bulbs this year.
PS: I've still got one or two light sets up that I haven't gotten around to taking down just yet.. not because of a lack of time but just laziness. I'll get around to it..... eventually!!
