Arrrrrrrrrr, Now you see my friends the sort of Pull I have with the Australian Customs, When I spoke to them they said The manuals have to come out, But it is not what you know, It is who you know, I ask that it be clear with the Manuals ..

I was not sure if they could pull strings or not as they said, Leave it with me Groovy my Friend and we will see what we can do, I seen the manuals in the pic's, So it is all about leaving it up to Groovy to get it right, Yes just a phone call my Friends, Is all it needed......

But on a good note, I for one will be cruising on the night to see the lights, Is it the 1st of December my friends, But know matter what night it is, I will be there to look at the Lights and hope many Members come too..

I was talking to my Mate JayDee a couple of weeks ago and we thought that maybe you have a bit of a BBQ and sell sausage sangers to raise money for next year..

So Please put your hand up to come and Meet JayDee and Groovy too , At marquisite's house..

It will be December 1st from 8:00 pm (light count down just before 8:30 pm) so long as it isn't pouring with rain.

Fi, Crispin, and Maz are all regular visitors. Blue Bell joined in for the first time last year, maybe she'll be up again this year, who knows! Pert has visited once before, I'm not sure if he'll be there again. Unkregistered also paid a visit last year, but not on opening night.

I'm not too sure about the BBQ. Last year I had conditions imposed on the 'free' FM radio broadcasting licence that I couldn't charge admission or be 'sponsored' by the general public without paying royalties. I'd be broadcasting under the same conditions this year, so whilst I could probably get away with it with people that I know, its the public in general that might put a spanner in the works.

jaydee: The music that the lights dance to is broadcast over an FM radio frequency (88.9 FM) while the show is running. Last year permission was given to operate without a paid licence as long as the event was free, no admission, no commercial advertisements on the radio etc etc.

What the broadcast means is that people in their cars within about 50 metres can tune their stereo to 88.9 FM and hear the music without having to get out of the car if they don't want to.

    Default Good luck Ryan

Just want to wish you best of luck in this years Christmas Decoration display. Even thought I am too far away to actually see your wonderful work, I do enjoy seeing it here on the net. I love every set-up you have done the past few years that I have had the privilege to seeing what it looks and sound like. Thanks for all your hard work and Ii can see it is very expensive. Hope you won the contest. I did go to that site and vote for you. You sure make a lot of people happy. Keep up the good work.

    Thanks Dot

I didn't win the contest from BBBA. I came second place, losing by a single vote in a second round.

However, I was invited to play a mini version of Deal Or No Deal on a radio show as the runner up, walking away with a $170 deal (I had $400 in my case, but I didn't want to end up with $5 or $50 which were the three figures left when I bailed).
There were 16 cases ranging from 50 cents to $500.

With any luck the webcam should be streaming live to the internet on launch night (with audio) so feel free to tune into that (can be found at http://www.ryanschristmaslights.com/webcam.php)

-- Update Update Update Update Update --

Today I received my new lights. I've yet to label them but it cost me $1220 - that's WITH a 20% discount (the government robbed me of $110.91 GST too).

I'll begin putting them up tomorrow or Friday most likely depending on how long it takes me to go through and label.
